Who you are is more important than what you know!
Dear Success Seeker,
Recently I attended an intense seven day personal development workshop. The depth of self-discovery I experienced in this program was profound and, without question, my business results and personal life will take a massive leap forward because if it.
One of the things that inspired me most was the workshop leader. His presence was powerful and his presentation clear. He knew his topic deeply and delivered the content without notes, slides or props. Most would say I am an excellent public speaker, however as I watched him I found myself yearning to further enhance the confidence, power and presence I already have.
The leader referred repeatedly to seminars he had taken and mentors he had worked with in the past. He may be the most dedicated student I have ever met. He became immersed in Kung Fu at the age of 12 and I suspect this is the source of his insatiable desire to learn as well as his authentic humility. Now in his 40's he has traveled the world and studied for extended periods with exceptional masters in the areas of business, personal development, relationships and more.
The inspiration I experienced in his presence reminded me that all of us yearn to have more confidence, aliveness, freedom and fulfillment in our lives. You are no exception. Every desire you have for success including for wealth, a fancy home or car, great looks or impressive talents is driven at a core level by your desire for fulfillment. Unfortunately, as you may have already discovered, none of these external accomplishments delivers the feeling of inner peace you are seeking. They never will.
So what is required for authentic success? The answer is that success is about how you feel inside. It is what you say to yourself and the degree to which you respect yourself that matters. Personal fulfillment is actually a function of who you are, not what you do or what you have.
Like everyone else on the planet, you have the potential to achieve far more than you are today. Like others, you also have self-doubts, limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging habits buried deep in your psyche that are holding you back. The only way to improve your life permanently is to go on a journey of self-discovery and deal with these inner limitations.
After 25 years of success-seeking, I have discovered the most effective way to eliminate the personal dysfunctions undermining your success is through personal development courses. Not through reading or self-study. Not through academic training courses. I'm talking about serious, experiential workshops during which you get to know yourself at a deep level and eliminate your limiting beliefs.
Years ago personal growth often involved confrontive processes like EST and Primal Scream Therapy however things have come a long way since then. Now there are hundreds of powerful yet non-threatening programs available that will transform your experience of life. One excellent example is the courses offered by Landmark Education. I mention these only because I have found them valuable and they are available worldwide, however there are hundreds of other first-class transformational trainings to choose from.
Personal development isn't always easy. As a participant you will certainly discover some of your weaknesses. However what would you rather do? Ignore your shortcomings and have life remain exactly the same as it is now? Or become aware of the obstacles that are limiting your success and learn solutions for overcoming them?
In case you need further inspiration I will tell you this. Every person I know who has achieved significant success and is enjoying a fulfilling life has undertaken a journey of personal development. Robert Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" spent years immersed in his own personal development prior to writing his books. My former business partner, Harv Eker, did a boatload of personal development on his way to the top. Dave Dubeau, Darren Weeks, July Ono; the list of personal development advocates goes on.
Some people are born with a predisposition for success and perhaps they get off easy in this department. But the only way for you to climb up through the ranks from your initial level of success is through personal development of some sort.
I know this is true because I have been there. When I was young nobody would have predicted or even believed it possible for me to become who I am today. I've been involved in personal development for over 25 years and the results speak for themselves. I continue doing it because I want to reach even more of my potential. I encourage you to accelerate your journey to the top by finding and taking personal development courses that are right for you. If you want to find a good one, talk to successful people you respect and ask their advice. Or call me and I will be happy to give you some suggestions.
