Destination Success Newsletter - October 2004


This morning I had to close registration for our Success Essentials seminar in Vancouver next Tuesday. Why? Because we were oversold! Our room has a maximum capacity of 120 people, and our registrations soared right past that and kept on going. The reason can be summed up in a word: marketing.

This time last year I was a coach. Now I am an entrepreneur. And one of the biggest changes that has taken place during that time is my attitude about marketing.

When I was leading SuccessTracs, I never thought much about marketing. I even criticized Harv for putting too much emphasis on selling and not enough on delivery. My, how life has changed. I now have a whole new appreciation for Harv and his gift of marketing. I have come to realize that in order for ProCoach to succeed, I need to be selling constantly. Steady revenues are the life-blood of a small business, and there is no way to keep that money coming in without adding new clients and fresh sources of revenue each and every month. It is not about greed, or ego. It is truly a matter of survival.

Being a promoter is not something I enjoy. I desperately wish that all I had to do was work on creating the world's most effective coaching system and coach our members to overcome their barriers to success. But I have discovered the hard way that, no matter how good my program is and how happy our members are, the moment I stop marketing my business falls back into survival mode. And the same is true for everyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of generating their own income.

In order to survive and thrive we must learn to go beyond our comfort zones in the marketing arena. We need to study more, take more risks, and grow ourselves into marketing masters. Uncomfortable? Yes. But if we wish to achieve our potential in the entrepreneurial world, we must be marketing constantly whether we like it or not.

So go ahead. Stretch yourself in the area of marketing. I guarantee you will experience a tremendous payoff!

Last week we held the Success Essentials Seminar in Red Deer, Alberta. The members and guests who attended enjoyed themselves thoroughly as Andrew expanded their minds with his powerful principles of success. Success Essentials in Vancouver on November 2nd is SOLD OUT with well over 100 guests and many members registered. Let the Weekly Success Planner Be Your Coach!
More and more people are discovering the benefits of having a personal coach. In all areas of life, coaches are empowering people to move through their obstacles, beyond their fears, and into greater realms of success. While private coaches are worth every penny they charge (and more!), hiring one can still be very expensive.

How would you like to have a powerful, cost effective coach available to you each week? Well, you do! ProCoach is a true coaching program. And the key coaching tool is your Weekly Success Planner. Just as your personal coach would, the Weekly Planner asks you questions to help you identify your priorities, keeps you focused, holds you accountable to following through with your actions, and then celebrates with you when you succeed! And all this is included as part of your ProCoach membership and requires just a few minutes of your time each week. All you have to do is use it.

Are you using the Weekly Success Planner as fully as you could? If not, you are really missing the opportunity to maximize the value from your investment in ProCoach. Maximizing the Success Factor
October saw the introduction of our third Success Factor: "Optimize Your Resources." Simply put, this Success Factor asks, "Are you making the best possible use of the resources you have?" Think about the successful people you know. Isn't it true that they do not waste their time, money or energy?

What about you? Each time you start a new task, or even think about doing something, stop and ask yourself, "Is this an 80 or a 20? Will investing my time in this advance my highest priorities?" If you can develop a habit of asking this question, you will begin to catch yourself when you start to go off track. From there you can start making the choices that take you where you want to go.

Another valuable element of this Success Factor involves identifying your top 3 priorities each day. Whether your priorities relate to your business or your personal life, the daily process of clarifying and committing to what is most important to you will keep you far more focused and dramatically accelerate your progress.

Finally, a painful reminder. Rather than looking at how you are managing your time and your money, step back and take a good look at how you are managing yourself! It's what you do, and the choices you make, that are really going to make the difference in how you use any resource in your life. Manage yourself well, make choices that empower you, and you will experience a tremendous increase in your success.

ACTION PLAN - Step one is to re-read the Success Factor workbook to remind yourself of the content and exercises. Step two: be more diligent about asking yourself the Success Factor question, "Is this an 80 or a 20?" Write the question on a piece of paper and put it by your desk or on your computer. Finally, develop a habit of setting your top three priorities daily. Take these three actions and you will truly be optimizing your resources.

Purpose & Objectives Exercise
Members who recently attended our live seminars will recall an exercise we did in which you clearly defined your purpose and objectives for being in the ProCoach program. (Those members who did not attend a live event had this exercise included in their package.) This piece is especially important! Not only does it enable you to get clear about what you most want from ProCoach, it also provides you with a way to measure whether or not you are getting a return on your investment in the program. If you have not yet completed this exercise, please take the time to do so now.

We want to keep a copy of your Purpose & Objectives sheet here at ProCoach so your Laser Coach can support you to get results in the areas that are most important to you. If you did the exercise at the live seminar in Red Deer, or did not attend a live event at all, please fax a copy of your sheet to the ProCoach office at 604.983.8041 or send them to us by email or in the mail.

New Teleclass Recording on the ProCoach Website
This month's Success Factor Teleclass is now posted on our website for your listening pleasure. If you did not attend one of the live seminars this month, we strongly recommend you listen to it.

Note: All ProCoach telclasses are recorded and posted onto the website within a few days of the class taking place. You can listen to them online or download them from the website and burn your own CDs.
You can also dial into a voice mail service by phone and listen to them for up to 30 days after the call.

Laser Coaching
Bookings for Laser Coaching sessions have been very light lately. Andrew will not be offering any Laser Coaching appointments during the last 2 weeks of December, so don't leave booking your session until the last minute. The last month of every quarter is always booked solid, so schedule your session now. Remember, you do not need to have an earth shattering issue or problem in order to get value from Laser Coaching!

Success Partners
Success Partnerships end at the end of each quarter unless partners choose to continue them. You will soon receive an email from ProCoach asking whether or not you would like us to find you a new Success Partner. If you do not have a Success Partner and/or would like us to arrange a new one for you, please respond promptly to the email and we will do our best to find a suitable match for you.

Spotlight on April Lane
ProCoach: Tell us about your business
April: I own a couple of businesses. One is a housecleaning company I have had for 12 years. I had about 5 employees for the first 7 years, then about 5 years ago I bought a second, larger business which brought us up to 18 employees. We now employ about 15-25 people depending on the time of year.

I also started a real estate investment company just over a year ago. We work to keep homeowners who are in foreclosure from losing their homes while creating a passive income for our investors.

ProCoach: You joined SuccessTracs about 2.5 years ago, and have been with ProCoach since the beginning. When you joined SuccessTracs, what kind of results were you looking for?
April: I was definitely attracted to the idea of doubling my income and time off. I also wanted to get clearer on what my dreams were, and improve my ability to stay focussed. I had a pattern of getting into something and then falling away from it and I wanted to overcome that.

ProCoach: So, are you getting more time off now than you were back then?
April: When I started using the system I actually quadrupled my time off. Then I started my second business. That enabled me to triple my income but has taken up most of my free time. So now I'm working on getting more free time again while continuing to increase my current income.

ProCoach: What do you like about the ProCoach Success System?
April: I love the energy at the Quarterly Seminars. I find the Weekly Planner to be an excellent tool because it forces me to identify my priorities and keep moving ahead. It helps me to sustain my focus, which I mentioned is one of my challenges. I also like having a Success Partner to connect with and the Laser Coaching sessions are awesome. I like having the support available.

Before I started doing this program I never did quarterly planning. When I tried, I couldn't even wrap my head around it. But the structure of the program makes it a lot easier to do. Having a seminar every quarter where I look at the previous 3 months and plan for the next 3 really helps. If I were doing it on my own, I would let it slide and that would be the end of it.

ProCoach: What results have you seen in your businesses and your personal life since joining the program?
April: I certainly dream a lot bigger and have higher aspirations. When I joined I thought I wanted to make maybe forty or fifty thousand dollars per year and that would be fine. Now I am dreaming a lot bigger. And I see it's achievable for me to play a lot bigger. I'm striving for a much higher net worth and more passive income than I ever even imagined before this program came along. It isn't that hard if you go step by step, keep your focus, and keep moving forward.

In terms of specific results, I have more than doubled my monthly income and am on track to quadruple my net worth based on equity positions I have in my real estate investment company.

Plus, one of my big dreams has been to live in a beautifully furnished home with lots of windows and a view. On November 24th I'll be moving to the 18th floor of the Met. It's a beautiful apartment that overlooks the city and I will wake up to Lake Union every morning. I've ordered new furniture that I love. It's being delivered the day I move in, which is in just a few weeks. I am very excited about it.

ProCoach: Anything else about being a ProCoach Member?
April: I really enjoy the support of the people in the program and hearing other people's stories. It is nice to be around people who are making things happen.

ProCoach: Well think of it this way. Our other members also get inspired by the people they meet who are making things happen, and you are one of the people who is inspiring them! Congratulations.
